The Seven Eyes

What is The Seven Eyes?

The story of the Seven Eyes dates back to the ancient Babylonians, approximately 5,000 years ago. The Babylonians believed radiance emitted by an evil soul, often referred to as The Envious Eye, could inflict harm on men, women and children. To protect themselves from this envy, people used a talisman —The Seven Eyes.

The Seven Eyes has the power to divide evil radiance into seven harmless sections, sending it into multiple directions and causing The Envious Eye to lose its negative energy. Because the Babylonians knew that water has the ability to absorb the rays emitted from The Eye, they used a blue hue to mimic the color of water and strengthen The Seven Eyes.

While many people carried personal versions of The Seven Eyes in the forms of jewelry or small objects, larger versions of The Seven Eyes would be hung on walls and the façades of houses to protect palaces of kings, private homes and even public areas.

Today, people worldwide still believe in the power of The Seven Eyes and use it as an envy protector.  Others choose to wear the symbol and display it in their homes purely for design and aesthetic purposes. Regardless of the reason, The Seven Eyes remains a prime example of a spiritual and artistic heritage that has remained relevant for many cultures for many thousands of years.

7,000 years in the making.

Your Seven Eyes jewelry is hand-made from Egyptian faience, also known as Egyptian paste, which was first developed some 7,000 years ago in the area of ancient Egypt.

Egyptian faience is a self-glazing ceramic containing clay, sand, colorants and salt. During the drying process, the salt crystals in the ceramic material rise to the surface and develop into a deep glaze when fired in the kiln.

Egyptian faience can be made into a range of bright colors. A copper colorant is used to give the Seven Eyes it distinctive and rich turquoise blue appearance — making them stand out in any fine jewelry collection.
